Another song about falling in love with another woman even though you’re in a happy relationship. I have in mind a ghost town in a western where whoever moves first gets shot. The song’s metaphors swirl around like snowflakes, and in the end the snow is both the attraction you can’t fight and the forgetting that covers everything until the great passion has faded.
Musically, three sources come together here: The actual song, written in 2015. A rather noisy jam with the Moog DFAM and the Lyra 8 (as ‚Collision Jam‘ on YouTube), which harmonically has nothing to do with the actual song. And an epic final part, which I wrote around 1996 as „Totentanz II“ and recorded with the good old Heavy Paschi 666.Previously unreleased.
lyrics
THAT TOWN WHERE OUR HEARTS STAND STILL
The sky is empty
all snow has fallen down
let’s move slowly
through that little white town
which we built together
with carefully carved assertions
with main streets for official statements
and hidden rooms for other versions
We’re old enough to know
the risks of those crimes
I swear, we didn’t do anything
we were just spending time
But attraction, nonetheless,
fell down like snow on our skin.
and it got in, crawling all the way
to where those things are happening
Oh how I miss you
since all snow has fallen down
Oh how I miss you
since all snow has fallen down
Oh how I miss you
since all snow has fallen down
and nobody moves around
in that town where our
hearts stand still
because the one that moves first
will be killed
I’m so filled with you, my blood is vibrating
gonna lock myself in those venes
gonna write your name in blood on every inch of that wall
gonna open the windows and let the snow cover it all
gonna wash your name from that wall
gonna wait till I’m empty from you.
and your tracks, just like the foot prints of some smaller birds,
are covered with snow too
Oh how I miss you
since all snow has fallen down
Oh how I miss you
since all snow has fallen down
Oh how I miss you
since all snow has fallen down
and nobody moves around
in that town where our
hearts stand still
and the one that moves first
will be killed
